

Display Innovation China 2023 (DIC 2023), an international display industry summit & international display technology application innovation show has been held successfully in Shanghai, with winners of International Display Technology and Application Innovation revealed. We won Gold Medal for Novel Display Application for our powerful nanopores quantum dots (NPQD) technology with brand-new applications and excellent market performance.
Focusing on breakthrough in new technology of the industry, DIC AWARD recognizes companies and new products and technologies that contributed significantly to global display industrial chain for enhancing competitiveness of the industry as a whole and promoting collaborative innovation for a better global display industry ecosystem. Quantum dot has attracted extensive attention as an emerging light-emitting material and an important means for manufacturers to enable full color Micro LED display. In July 2022, NPQD® R1 Micro LED chip jointly developed by the company and our participating company Saphlux was introduced into mass production. In April 2023, the two companies launched 162-inch 4K QLED display, the first direct view LED incorporating quantum dots in the world.
This breakthrough is made possible by NPQD. Unlike traditional quantum-dot film or photoresist in organic colloids, Saphlux’s technique creates a nanoporous structure on the gallium nitride structure of LED itself, making gallium nitride a natural quantum dot carrier. The combination of the scattering effect of nanopore and the extremely high thermal conductivity of gallium nitride contributes significantly to quantum dots’ color conversion efficiency and reliability. With NPQD, Saphlux provides R1 red-light in-situ packaged quantum dot LED chip, which solves problems with traditional red-light chips regarding efficiency, viewing angle, temperature sensitivity, and cost and enables mass production.

With positive affirmation and recognition inside and outside the industry since its launch, our QLED was awarded the Annual MiniMicro LED Promotion Prize in the recently held OFweek 2023 new display industry selection.
At the parallel next generation display technology trends seminar, our postdoctoral fellow Yan Xiaoyu shared cutting-edge technologies, explored the development trend of high-performance perovskite LED technology, and created a blueprint of the future of the industry with attending experts and scholars. As Micro LED mass production achieves a breakthrough and QLED gets ready, new display will enter new development phase. With innovation-driven development in minds, we will continue to drive global Micro LED, production and application and improve visual experience for people.
